Heartache for Everyone
Last Monday, this dude had another ‘first’ this year.

Fortunately, Drew’s first day at Jack Morton is more of a beginning than an end… We are kind of over the endings… It may have taken us a while to get around to feeling positive about the new direction our flaming adventure train has taken, but I think we might be at the turning point of taking ownership.
The way I see it, we’ve experienced life changing events in the following flavors thus far in 2009:
- Devastating, indescribable, and never to be celebrated
- Indescribable, overflowing, and will be celebrated forever
- Nearly devastating, heartbreaking, and somehow still for the greater good
- Frustrating, anxiety-causing, heartburn making, rubbish – which deserves none of my energy, but gets more than I’d like to admit
- Perplexing, disheartening, and somehow still ok
- Scary and awesome
- Just plain stinking awesome
- Bittersweet
At the end of the day, this matters. It ALL matters. Every bit of it is somehow necessary. But on this day, out of the ashes (too dramatic?), my first date – my first love – had a first day in his first role at a global, blue-chip design agency. And he still came home to me.

Oh I just love and miss you so much. Hooray for Drew, hooray for new beginnings and old memories and hooray for a brand new year right around the corner!
